Pastor Jim & Gina Brummet

Senior Pastor

Jim Brummett and his wife, Gina, have led Southwest First Assembly of God since 1992.  Serving has been a way of life for Jim and Gina.  Pastor Jim is a second-generation minister and received his formal training at Southwestern Assemblies of God University and Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.  He has served congregations in worship, youth ministry and Christian education.  The Brummetts are also actively involved in the ministry of Teen Challenge (faith-based drug and alcohol recovery) with Jim serving on the board and Gina serving as Operations Director of Teen Challenge of the Rocky Mountains.  They have two grown children and are proud grandparents!

The Brummets believe that God’s promises are for everyone. On a typical Sunday, truth is presented clearly, worship is led by the Spirit, and the power of God is experienced. Pastor Jim has issued a prophetic call to the congregation and community for repentance, faith and action; in lieu of fear, contentment and complacency.

The Brummetts are committed to helping individuals find an authentic relationship with their Creator and growing in a purposeful relationship with Him.

Jennifer and I moved to Colorado back in 2007 from Tucson, Arizona… And have been LOVING IT!!! We’ve been married since 2003 and had our first beautiful daughter on March 16th 2009!!! Somebody say AMEN!… (or maybe start praying =)

Enough about us… Let’s talk about GOD! He has blessed us so greatly to be ministering here at Southwest First. He has surrounded us with AMAZING people… People, without which, I know we would not be able to do what we do! And let me tell you God is doing AMAZING THINGS!!! Young people of all ages are getting saved, baptized with the Holy Spirit, and dedicating their lives to the service of our King!  Just this past New Years (Jan 1, 2009 @ 1:17am) 21 students dedicated their lives to building a relationship with Jesus Christ!!! And many for the FIRST TIME! None of this is about us… It’s all about God doing an incredible work in the lives of kids who are anxious to server Him!

So what’s our role in all of this??? Following God with all of our hearts; Listening to the Holy Spirit to guide us in everything we do; Living passionately for Jesus Christ;  And encouraging our students to do the same!!!

Bill Barlow

Hello– My name is Bill Barlow. I have been a Christian for 58 years. My priorities are: 1) Christ; 2) family; 3) others; 4) myself. My wife, Blanche, and I have been married 55 years, we have 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great granddaughters. I studied in college for the ministry of the gospel and for education. I have worked in both fields (education: 30 years and Christian ministry the rest through the present). I have lots of interests and several hobbies (fly fishing, gardening, astronomy, American Civil War studies; hunting).

God has led me to be a deacon because I have a heart for others and desire to use God’s gifts in me for the benefit of others and the building of His church. I look forward to serving you.

Welcome to SW 1st A/G. My husband Dick is a retired school teacher/piano tuner and I a retired RN. We are involved with Prime Timers, Teen Mops, and Nursery. Every Sunday we have a Newcomer’s Fellowship, Room 201, at approximately 11:45 am for a brief time. When you come we invite you to visit with us at the Newcomer’s Fellowship with Pastor, Board members and others. And enjoy coffee, cookies, etc. We look forward to all those who God is bringing in to be a part of this family of God, caring deeply for Him and each other.

Greetings to Everyone! I have been attending an Assembly of God church since 1988 with my wife Barbara, but felt the Lord calling us to Southwest First Assembly four years ago. What an impact this church has had on our family. My son, Broderick and daughter, Victoria can’t wait to get to church on Sunday and Wednesday nights. I am a board member and also help out with Royal Rangers. My wife is coordinator for the Girls Clubs. As a board member, I have a great desire to help people develop a deep passion for the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessings to all who love the Lord.

Blessings, in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! My wife Christine and I; along with John Jr, Star, and Seth, have been part of Southwest First Assembly for the past  seven years. God has been so good to our family, we welcome you to come and see what He has in store for you and your family!

We have a heart to reach and serve those who are searching for the love of Christ. We work side-by-side with our children  on several teams.  Right now our primary focus is the Royal Ranger program.  This is a type of scouting program that is designed to mentor boys to be the next generation of Christ-like servant leaders.

We are excited to be actively involved with  such a great family of believers. Here it just feels like home; there is room for everyone and their gifts. We look forward to meeting you!  Please feel free to contact us for prayer or any questions you might have.

I have served in many roles while attending this church and am currently a Board Member and Young Adults Sunday School Teacher. As a board member my desire is to see Southwest First Assembly be a light house that shines God’s love and power to a community that is searching for hope, a place that people can come and see the presence of Holy Spirit all the time. I want our church to have a positive empowering influence on anyone who walks in the door.
